Mars Auto

Mars Auto is building autonomous trucks for the $50B trucking market in South Korea. Korea is the world’s fifth largest exporter with significant cargo traffic, and most cargo transportation within the country is done on only three major highways. Mars’ autonomous trucks have been successfully driven on the longest highway in Korea (260 miles) from start to finish with zero disengagements.

Autonomous trucks help logistics companies solve a major cost problem as labor costs typically surpass 30% of the total cost of trucking, so Mars Auto will decrease the cost per trip significantly. Mars is led by a group of technical founders who are building the company’s self-driving software from scratch. The company has received a driverless permit from Korea’s government, allowing the company to drive autonomously on any highway in Korea.
