Safety and inspection bot startup Gecko Robotics adds $7 million to the coffers
Gecko Robotics develops and operates robots that automate infrastructure inspections. Today, Gecko is focusing on power plant inspections for biomass, natural gas, and clean coal. $17 Billion is spent every year on time-consuming inspections and maintenance, driving up the cost of electric power across America. Gecko develops wall-climbing robots that dramatically reduces outage time for inspections resulting in large cost savings for plants. Traditionally, inspections use to take several days, and every hour a power plant is down costs tens of thousands of dollars.
